Dr. Wolfe’s Family Red is a harmonious combination of Zinfandel (48%), Petite Sirah(41%), and Lemberger(11%). This blend realizes the totality of Thurston Wolfe’s wine making endeavors. The wine maker, Wade Wolfe, has always sought to reimagine and expand upon lesser know grape varietals to really show their true possibilities.  
 
The Zinfandel lends a mid-hitting smoky- tobacco overlay throughout. Its ominous dried blueberry flavors move to compliment the savageness of the Petite Sirah’s bold dark chocolate and coffee tones. Much like the Zinfandel, the Lemberger has similar spice cabinet qualities, but unlike the other two, rescues the palette with crisp acidity, whole black pepper and red cherry.
